WHAT IT ARCHITECTURE DESCRIBES
The information system design is to capture a model of a particular real-world segment for a specific need. In order to make this design as accurate as possible, we must capture everything that is needed, primarily the information and characteristics of individual entities. We also need to understand the behavior of the objects of interest to be able to describe the logic of information processing, the so-called application logic. All this together is ultimately the model that serves as a basis for the entire implementation of the solution. Such a model can be called the architecture of IT systems solutions.
It deals with business modeling of an organization. At the highest level, it connects with the organization’s vision, mission and goals. At the lower levels, it includes the business process area (both conceptual and detailed), the customer segment model, the product or service model, as well as the organizational model of the company. Business architecture is strongly intertwined with traditional management, so it is most accessible to people outside IT. Thus, it can be a basic communication platform on which business and IT exchange information and requirements.
This architecture works with the information needs of the company. Within the information architecture, a data model of the company is created, including the definition of the most important information entities. Conceptual, logical and possibly physical data models are solved at more detailed levels. The information architecture also covers the area of data flows or data interfaces.
Its aim is the applications used in the company — their description and registration (we are talking about application portfolio), functionality and supported business processes. A relatively complex part of the application architecture may be interfaces between systems whose implementation and maintenance often draws a considerable part of the IT budget.
It deals with the technological aspect of IT. The architecture focuses on networking, hardware, software and technical standardization. It represents the “traditional IT” area of enterprise architecture, the least related to business. It is often the first area that companies systematically deal with. Its benefits are also easiest and fastest to achieve.
CONTRIBUTION TO PLANNING
Architecture plays an important role in IT planning and development. It is a guideline that should be applied both to the strategic level and to the detailed level in individual projects.

The IOOSU portal was created as an information portal first for internal audit and later for the public.
